Women's Ministry
The Women's Ministry at CCDC Metro desires to keep with the vision of equipping saints for the work of the ministry. Whether you are a recent college graduate who is trying to figure out life here in the Nation's Capitol or a stay at home mom with 3 kids we want to assist you in practically applying your faith.
It doesn't take long to learn that the pace of life here can be overwhelming. As a result, we hope to have times of fellowship for women that provide a place of refuge and strengthening. The Lord has brought so many diverse women into this Body, and we enjoy building relationships and watching "iron sharpening iron" as we use the giftings the Lord has given us to encourage our sisters. Come and join us! Opportunities for fellowship:
The third Friday of each month we gather for fellowship and encouragement through the Word. Currently we are going through the Book of Proverbs and are enjoying each other's insights and encouragements as we learn about the true Source of knowledge and wisdom.
During the school year, we have a mid-week, mid-day women's study. We usually have a Fall session with a break from Thanksgiving until Christmas, and then a Spring session. During the summers we break from the mid-week study. These studies are scripturally based (we usually go through a book of the Bible). Ladies are expected to do their weekly homework so that they can participate in the discussion during the meeting, but we do try to choose materials that are manageable for our schedules. Ministry Opportunities
The ladies of CCDC Metro collectively run our Women Helping Women Ministry which helps provide meals to individuals and families who are suffering from sickness, have undergone surgeries or have been blessed with the birth of a child. One great thing about this ministry is that it allows you to determine when you can be involved, if an opportunity comes up and you are available, jump on it - if not, pass it by. Paul exhorts Titus in 3:14 "And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful." What a blessing we have to actively practice this verse!
