We have the joy and responsibility of reaching others with the gospel and disciplining them as they grow. It's a responsibility that we bear personally, and corporately.
So, the first step in our missionary endeavors is always personal - to reach out to those around us - even our children and our friends can be considered a mission field and/or in need of discipleship. In everything that we do, and everywhere we go, we try to be salt and light impacting the lives of people around us for the gospel - we don't 'send' missionaries , we 'are' missionaries.
As a church body, we reach out corporately on three levels:
Locally in the greater Washington DC area we support homeless outreaches, provide support to people in need, and assist in the domestic offices of international ministries.
On a regional and national level we support ministries that spread the gospel and prepare people to serve in outreach ministries.
On an international level we support the efforts of missionaries and local believers who are seeking to build local churches and reach out to those who suffer.
